Frequently asked questions
Do I have to allow location access?
No. You can search for a city instead. City search and time zone resolution may require an internet connection. Change your location choice in the app’s settings.
Why is it still the same journal day after midnight?
A day in daylogs changes at 6 a.m. in your selected location. The hours between midnight and 6 a.m. belong to the previous journal day.
How do I move my journal to another device?
In Settings, open the backup screen and export a .daylogs file with a passphrase, then import it on the other device. Restoration replaces that device’s existing journal and constellation data, so make a safety backup first. Imports must use a compatible current backup format and constellation catalog.
Can I recover a forgotten backup passphrase?
The backup is encrypted using your passphrase. The app has no passphrase reset or backup unlock feature. If your entries are still accessible on the original device, export a new backup with a new passphrase.
Can I remove the contents of past entries?
You can delete the current journal day’s entry. For past entries, the content-removal option clears text, emotions, and body sensations while keeping the date and constellation link. Previously exported backup files must be managed separately.
Will reinstalling the app bring back my journal?
There is no app-managed cloud sync. Export a .daylogs backup and keep its passphrase safe before deleting the app. System device backup and restoration depend on your Apple settings.
